Been a long time
Ok, so I know it's been like a generation since I posted something, and with so much going on I decided to pick up my blogging. So much has happened since I visited factcheck. On the campaign, off the campaign, back on the campaign. Marital ups. Marital downs. Ya know, life. So here I am, promising that soon will be more entries coming. I'm not doing it now because, simply, its late and i'm tired. But soon...

I Officially Become FactCheck.orgs First SuperFan

Whenever I have to do some jousting with the forces of Darth Clinton, or just generally know whats really real, I like to use facts gathered from factcheck. I respect the impartiality and objectivity of the work they do. So when I was in DC last week for a day on my way up to NY, where did I choose to go? The Washington Monument? The Jefferson Memorial? The Lincoln Memorial?Nah, screw that. I went to the National Press Building where the official office space of factcheck.org is located. My local guide through DC was my friend Jaenette, a fellow FSU alum and DC native. It turned out she was just the right one to accompany me. When we got there, the first person we saw was D'Angelo, an old friend of hers from high school and factcheck staffer. Thanks, Jae.
I most wanted to meet Emi Kolawale, their vidcast anchor, and Brooks Jackson, the guru of factchecking. Everyone was really polite, but I couldn't help notice that they didn't let me past the lobby. I guess thats where the controversial facts are kept. Don't even ask me if I got a tee shirt. But whatever.
Now, I'm not familiar with superfans showing up at my door (not lately anyway), but I know if it were me I would show them around. Still, it was a great experience. This was my 106 and Park. My Graceland.
I should probably explain why I felt it was just OK to simply show up at their office. Emi Kolawale's vidcast is just so damned inviting. It speaks to me. It says "Hi, we're the truth and you can be too. Just come visit us." Only in my mind? You bet it was. Thanks to everyone there for being so nice. 'Ppreciate it!
